About Loyola Magazine
Loyola is published three times a year by Loyola University Maryland’s office of marketing and communications for alumni, parents, friends, faculty, staff, and prospective students. The online version of Loyola offers stories from the print version with additional Web features. We welcome your comments, questions, and ideas. About the Staff
Rita Buettner, editor, grew up in Baltimore and attended Roland Park Country School. She graduated from Franklin & Marshall College with bachelor’s degrees in Latin and English. A former newspaper reporter, she has edited Loyola magazine since fall 2008. Rita collects used books, flyswatters, and ideas for magazine stories.
David Blohm, online designer/programmer, graduated from the University of Arizona College of Fine Arts. He is currently working on making updates to the magazine site and will write a more interesting bio when he has time.
Malia Leary, art director, was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and grew up in Carrollton, Texas. A graduate of Maryland Institute College of Art, Malia dislikes coconut and enjoys hunting for antiques at thrift stores, watching football, and going to the beach. She once spent two weeks driving 7,000 miles cross-country with two dogs and her husband.
