My Jesuit education has helped me to seek to grow in faith and Christian ministry. It has been one of the many blessings in my life, both spiritually and professionally—and I am grateful to God for these gifts.

Well I did arrive in Brussels on Tuesday afternoon after a very full morning in Paris. I went straight to Leuven, where I spent a very full 48 hours. I am once again on a train zipping through the French countryside, and I will soon be in the Chunnel.

Amazingly I write to you from under the English Channel. I left Saint Pancras London at 11:31 a.m. We had a minute of silence at the station for the victims of the terrorist attacks in Paris. A very somber 60 seconds.

Patrick Brugh, Ph.D., joined Loyola's faculty in 2013, when he began teaching sociology in Loyola's graduate program in Liberal Studies. In 2014, he began teaching undergraduate classes in gender studies and this past fall, he has continued to teach both subjects while adding German language to his schedule.
